Sponsors of an Act of Kindness Award automatically join our Kindness Community. This branded program provides excellent opportunities for small and medium sized business owners, service organisations, shire Councils, tertiary institutions and others wishing to forge exciting new community partnerships with educators.

Act of Kindness Awards are currently being presented every week in a wide range of state and privately managed educational institutions; e.g. primary, secondary and specialist schools. In 2009 the program became a core component of the B.Ed undergraduate degree course (Early childhood and Primary Education) at the Australian Catholic University, Ballarat.

What it costs to sponsor an Act of Kindness Award commencing in 2010

It costs A$750 to sponsor an Award over four consecutive terms in schools with an enrolment greater than 75 students.

The cost of sponsoring an Award over four consecutive terms in a school with an enrolment of 75 students or less is A$450.

Joint sponsorship of an Award by two organisations and/or families is acceptable. If you choose this option additional charges apply where more than one framed Kind Organisation certificate is required for presentation. In this circumstance, the total cost of an Act of Kindness Award becomes A$800 (for schools >75) or A$500 (for schools with 75 or less) in 2010.

Sponsors are billed directly and they are requested to pay their account within 14 days of registration being completed online by their school.

Every participating sponsor joining The Act of Kindness Award program is expected to widely promote the Mission, Vision and Values belonging to The Act of Kindness Inc. throughout their local community.

Your business will become an honorary Ambassador for The Act of Kindness Award. We therefore encourage each sponsor organisation to actively promote their association with this unique Award program and The Act of Kindness Inc.

Every sponsor receives

• A gold framed Kind Organisation Award Certificate (presented by your partner school)
• Ongoing invitation to attend school assembly award presentations
• Complimentary promotion of your business via school newsletters, assemblies and award presentations
• Your business name will appear with a hyper-link to your business website on our Kind Sponsors web page
• An e-newsletter from TAoK twice a year
• The opportunity to engage your staff in a unique way – we encourage employers to invite members of their staff to represent the organisation by attending and presenting the Award at your partner school
• Positive flow-on effects on staff morale – anecdotal research indicates current sponsors are enthusiastic about the improvement they have witnessed in staff well being within participating businesses

Your relationship with the sponsored school

The minimum commitment available to The Act of Kindness Award is one full year (being four successive school terms). We recommend each sponsor supports an Award for three years. This will facilitate the consolidation of positive school/industry partnerships over the medium-longer term.

At the earliest possible opportunity, newly registered schools are required to invite their Award sponsor to attend an Assembly where they will be presented with their Kind Organisation Certificate on behalf of The Act of Kindness Inc. Thereafter, all schools are asked to invite their Award sponsor/s to become regular presenters whenever an Act of Kindness Award is to be presented at a school Assembly or Awards ceremony.

All Award recipients and the school’s sponsor will thereafter receive acknowledgement in the next school newsletter.

Whilst a sponsor’s involvement requires financial backing, it is the on-going relationship with the school community through attendance at Award Certificate presentations that is the true foundation for community partnerships.

Financial Commitment

The Act of Kindness Inc. is a non-profit community based charitable organisation. Our office is located in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. It is entirely staffed by unpaid volunteers.

We understand that schools become aware of The Act of Kindness Inc. and its award programs at different times throughout the year. Accordingly, we accept four intakes per year commencing at the beginning at the beginning of each term. New registrations need to be completed online no later than the last week of the preceding school term by an appointed representative from each participating school.

Schools are not responsible for paying the cost of an Act of Kindness Award unless they decide to self sponsor.  The Act of Kindness Inc. will automatically invoice nominated sponsor/s upon completion of the Association's online registration form by an appointed representative from each partner school, unless otherwise advised,

Sponsor/s who agree to finance an Act of Kindness Award for 3 years receive an attractive discount on the total cost of continuous sponsorship over that period. Please note, payment must be received in full at the start of the 3 year sponsorship period to qualify for this offer.
